Recognized worldwide as one of the most exemplary livestock registries, the
Alpaca Registry became the first camelid registry that was international in
scope and mandated blood typing, now DNA testing, to identify parentage as a
requisite for registration.
Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America
AFCNA creates and promotes alpaca fleece products for its members, alpaca
owners and breeders across the US and Canada. If you've run across the

Midwest
Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association
MOPACA promotes public awareness of alpacas in Missouri and the eight
surrounding states. Members meet quarterly and share knowledge of husbandry
techniques and marketing.
Ohio
State University Camelid Research Program
Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine hosts one of the
more comprehensive camelid health programs, including the Llama Research
Program, and posts useful articles to this site. The International Camelid
Institute is an education and service facility for camelid owners, breeders,
veterinarians and scientists, fiber and textile persons, and animal
enthusiasts throughout the world to advance the well being of camelids and the
camelid industry.
